Trump-promoted Freedom Fuel stations end discounted $3.47 gas price

The Freedom Fuel Network, a private company operating over two dozen gas stations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has reportedly stopped selling gasoline at the sharply discounted price of $3.47 per gallon, a price that was seen as a nod to President Donald Trump. Several stations now charge around $3.92, in line with local competitors, while the average price in Philadelphia has risen to $4.19. A White House spokesperson confirmed the company received no government subsidies. The network was formed on June 23 by Baltimore Ravens coach Randy Brown and former commodities trader Yoni Gontownik, a week before Trump promoted it on Truth Social. Fourteen of the 25 locations are linked to the Kazmi brothers, who have faced claims of unethical business practices, including a 2021 federal judgment ordering them to pay over $600,000 for allegedly stealing gas. Analysts had previously warned the low prices were unsustainable without subsidies.
