RC Lens has loaned Swedish U21 international Jeremy Agbonifo (20) to Polish champions Jagiellonia Bialystok, with an option to buy. Agbonifo joined Lens in 2025 for €6.5 million as a high-potential talent but failed to establish himself, being labeled a flop by club observers. He was previously loaned to FC Basel last season. The move to Poland aims to revive his career and allow Lens to permanently offload him.
Source report
Jeremy Agbonifo (20 years old) arrived at RC Lens in 2025 with the reputation of a young, high-potential talent, commanding a transfer fee of €6.5 million. However, he has never managed to establish himself at the club.
Now regarded as a genuine flop by Lens observers, the Swedish U21 international has endured a series of disappointments in Artois. Last season, he was already sent out on loan to FC Basel in search of playing time. This campaign, he remains outside the plans of the club's management.
Faced with this sporting dead end, the northern French club has announced a new departure for the player. Agbonifo is now heading to Poland to join Jagiellonia Bialystok, the 2024 Ekstraklasa champions.
The move is a loan with an option to buy, offering the Swede an ideal environment to revive his young career, while giving RC Lens hope of a permanent departure at the end of the season.
