Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday (July 21, 2026) said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated that the government took immediate action after the NEET paper leak.
Addressing reporters after the NDA parliamentary party meeting, Mr. Rijiju said:
“Furthermore, prioritizing the students’ futures, a re-examination was successfully conducted without delay in declaring the results.”
The Minister said that PM Modi also outlined the stringent steps being taken to avert future leaks.
“He stressed the need to punish the guilty and collaboratively establish a foolproof system,” added Mr. Rijiju.

The remarks come after Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) march to Parliament on Monday (July 20, 2026), demanding Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation and educational accountability. The march was met with a lathi charge, tear gas, and an internet cut-off.
The Opposition accused the BJP-led government of silencing the issue during the Monsoon session of Parliament on Monday (June 20, 2026). Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge raised the question of paper leaks and student protests in the Rajya Sabha but was disallowed any discussion on issues other than those listed in the agenda.
