Samsung Electronics cuts hundreds of US jobs as HQ moves to Texas

Samsung Electronics has cut hundreds of jobs in the United States, affecting workers in New Jersey and Texas, as the company moves its U.S. headquarters to Texas. According to a Reuters report, 739 roles in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey were affected, and around 100 workers in the mobile division at Plano, Texas were also laid off. The layoffs were not attributed to AI, Samsung told Reuters. While Samsung's business has been boosted by soaring AI chip demand, other parts like consumer electronics have been negatively impacted.
