SportsEric Bailly, the Ivorian international central defender formerly of Olympique de Marseille, has signed with Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer (MLS). The 31-year-old free agent, who most recently played for Real Oviedo in Spain, joins on a contract guaranteed through June 2027 with club options for the 2027-2028 and 2028-2029 seasons. He will occupy an international player slot and officially join upon receiving his International Transfer Certificate and P-1 visa. Since leaving Marseille in 2023 after a loan from Manchester United, Bailly has played for Besiktas (2023-2024), Villarreal (2024-2025), and Real Oviedo (2025-2026). The move marks his first experience in North American football.
