SportsReal Zaragoza is experiencing a transformative week with the entry of investment group A.GAIN as the main shareholder, acquiring 75% of Real Z LLC shares. A 22 million euro capital increase will be executed, involving outgoing president Jorge Mas and Juan Forcén. The club is appointing Guido Baroli as general manager, has signed former youth player Ander Herrera, and is undergoing a near-complete board overhaul. This comes as the club faces its worst sporting moment, playing in the third-tier Primera RFEF. The only comparable precedent occurred in July 2014 when the club was saved from near-disappearance by the Fundación Zaragoza 2032. A.GAIN, part of IDC Network, also holds stakes in Atlético de Madrid, Leeds United, and Deportivo de Cali. The new ownership visited club facilities and outlined plans for institutional and sporting recovery.
