FinanceSamsung Electronics America (SEA) is reducing its workforce by 739 jobs in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice reviewed by Reuters. SEA, which handles sales and marketing of Samsung's consumer electronics in the U.S., employs about 1,200 workers in New Jersey. The company announced it is preparing to relocate its headquarters to Texas by the end of 2026, leading to workforce structure changes. Samsung stated that most affected employees have been offered relocation opportunities and characterized the changes as workforce optimization rather than layoffs. The semiconductor business is not affected by this move.
