SportsEric Bailly, the Ivorian international central defender who played for Olympique de Marseille during the 2022-2023 season, has signed with Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer (MLS). The MLS club announced the signing on Friday, stating that Bailly, who was a free agent and most recently played for Real Oviedo in Spain, has a contract guaranteed through June 2027 with club options for the 2027-2028 and 2028-2029 seasons. He will occupy an international player slot and officially join upon receiving his international transfer certificate and P-1 visa. Since leaving Marseille in 2023 after a loan from Manchester United, Bailly has played for Besiktas (2023-2024), Villarreal (2024-2025), and Real Oviedo (2025-2026). The 49-cap Ivorian brings experience to the Columbus defense.
