Real Betis unveils 2026/27 second kit as tribute to bullying victim Sandra Peña

A Kit with Deep Symbolic Meaning

Real Betis and hummel have unveiled their second kit for the 2026/27 season — a design featuring varying shades of green that carries profound symbolic weight. The shirt represents an allegory of Hope and serves as an expression of the identity and tradition of the city of Seville.

Inside the collar, the shirt bears the inscription "Verde Esperanza" ("Green Hope"), a message tied to the new anti-bullying campaign launched by the Real Betis Balompié Foundation in collaboration with the Spanish Association for the Prevention of Bullying (AEPAE) .

Anti-Bullying Initiatives

Throughout the 2026/27 season, Betis and its Foundation will roll out several initiatives aimed at:

• Providing prevention tools to families, teachers, and young people
• Raising awareness of a problem that, according to UNESCO, affects nearly one in three students worldwide, with serious consequences for their mental health

The AEPAE will conduct four prevention and awareness workshops on bullying, targeting:

• Young players from the men's youth academy
• Young players from the women's youth academy
• The Foundation's football school
• The Monsalvete football school, located in the Tres Mil Viviendas neighborhood (a socially vulnerable area)

Additionally, the AEPAE will organize the Bullying Prevention Day in Seville, where the association will present its report on the state of bullying in Spain — from the first media-covered suicide case 22 years ago to the case of Sandra Peña. The report will propose solutions across educational, social, therapeutic, legal, and digital domains.

At the end of the 2026/27 season, a therapeutic summer camp for bullying victims will be launched: a transformative week in which minors can regain their self-esteem and will to live, supported by a team of AEPAE specialists.

Tribute to Sandra Peña

In an emotional tribute to Sandra Peña, a young Betis fan who took her own life in October 2025 in Seville after reporting that she was suffering from bullying, the kit's presentation video is led by her family. The video shows her room and her green-and-white belongings, with the march 'Siempre la Esperanza' playing in the background as the second kit — bearing her name on the back — is revealed.

Design Inspiration

Continuing the theme of Hope, the design draws inspiration from two masterpieces of Sevillian embroidery:

• The mesh mantle of Esperanza Macarena, popularly known as the 'Camaronero' mantle, designed and embroidered by Juan Manuel Rodríguez Ojeda in 1900
• The mantle of Esperanza de Triana, designed by Juan Borrero in 1992 and executed by the workshop of Sobrinos de Esperanza Elena Caro in 1993, later reformed in 2024 by the workshop of Charo Bernardino

The shirt also incorporates other recognizable iconographic elements:

• The royal crown, closely linked to Real Betis since 1914
• The heraldic anchor, representing hope
• The 'mariquillas' of the Macarena

Technical Features

On the technical side, the new shirt features TechPro technology, a textile solution that combines comfort, adaptability, and functional fabric response during use. It offers a balanced structure between lightness, resistance, breathability, and thermal comfort.
