ConflictDavid Michael Brouillette, an ICE agent and former police officer, fatally shot 26-year-old Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine. Brouillette's ex-wife, Ashley Brouillette, identified him as the shooter and told the Portland Press-Herald that he called her after the incident, asking her to lie about his character and claiming the shooting was justified because the victim tried to hit him with a car. She said she saw videos of the incident and did not believe his story, adding that he was 'unusually calm.' Ashley also stated she had previously warned his military superiors about his mental health and that he was abusive to her. Brouillette, an Army veteran receiving VA disability benefits, was hired by ICE earlier in 2026. He previously worked as a police officer at a VA facility in Maine and as a volunteer firefighter, but was removed from the fire department due to disputes with leadership.
