SportsReal Betis is in advanced negotiations with Villarreal to sign goalkeeper Diego Conde on a one-season loan, following the imminent departure of Pau López to Andorra. The 27-year-old Madrid-born goalkeeper, who trained at Atlético de Madrid and previously played for Leganés and Getafe, joined Villarreal in 2024 for €4 million. He played 22 official matches in the 2024-25 season but has only featured in one Copa del Rey match this season. Betis's Sports Directorate, led by Manu Fajardo, is working on the deal, which may or may not include a purchase option. If completed, Conde would join Álvaro Valles and Manu González in Betis's goal. Villarreal, with Luiz Júnior and Arnau Tenas in their squad, may allow the loan.
