According to a New York Times report citing three sources, Meta Platforms is in discussions to lease computing power to AI company Anthropic in a deal potentially worth up to $10 billion over two years. The deal, proposed by Anthropic in June, would see Meta generate new revenue from its infrastructure investments, diversifying beyond its core advertising business and competing with cloud providers like CoreWeave and Nebius. Payments would be made monthly over the two-year period, though terms could change and both companies have the option to exit early.
