ICE agent who killed Maine man asked ex-wife to lie for him

David Michael Brouillette, an ICE agent and former Maine police officer, fatally shot 26-year-old Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine. Brouillette's ex-wife, Ashley Brouillette, told the Portland Press-Herald that he called her after the shooting, admitting to the killing and asking her to lie to cover for his character. She refused, stating she had seen videos of the incident and did not believe his claim that the victim tried to hit him with a car. Ashley described Brouillette as abusive and said she had previously warned his military superiors about his mental health. Brouillette, an Army veteran receiving VA disability benefits, was hired by ICE earlier in 2026. He previously worked as a police officer at a VA facility in Chelsea, Maine, and as a volunteer firefighter in Manchester, Maine, where he was removed due to disputes with leadership.
