However, a dramatic collapse saw India lose seven wickets for 55 runs, with Jofra Archer (3-47) and Gus Atkinson (3-50) leading England's bowling attack. In reply, England stumbled to 125-5 before Root's composed 72-run partnership with Will Jacks (30) steadied the chase. Root and Atkinson (23 not out) saw England home with 5.5 overs to spare, ending England's six-match ODI losing streak against India. The series finale will be played at Lord's on Sunday.
