SportsReal Betis is in advanced negotiations with Villarreal to sign goalkeeper Diego Conde on a one-season loan, following the imminent departure of Pau López to Andorra. The 27-year-old Madrid-born goalkeeper, who trained at Atlético de Madrid and previously played for Leganés and Getafe, has a contract with Villarreal until 2029. He played 22 official matches for Villarreal in the 2024-25 season but has only featured in one Copa del Rey match this season. The loan deal may include a purchase option. Betis plans for Conde to join Álvaro Valles and Manu González in goal. Villarreal, who paid €4 million for Conde in 2024, may allow the move due to their current goalkeeping depth with Luiz Júnior and Arnau Tenas.
