Ander Herrera has officially returned to his boyhood club, Real Zaragoza, signing a one-year contract after more than a decade away.
The Spanish side confirmed the move in an official statement on their website, welcoming back the midfielder who began his professional journey at the club.
"Real Zaragoza and Ander Herrera have reached an agreement for the return home of the youth academy player, who has signed for one season with the club."
A Full-Circle Career
Herrera first joined Zaragoza's academy at age 11 after beginning his football journey with UD Amistad. He progressed through the club's youth system before making his senior debut against Levante in February 2009.
The midfielder quickly established himself in the first team, helping Zaragoza earn promotion back to La Liga before cementing his place in Spain's top flight over the following seasons.
Manchester United Years
His performances earned him a move to Manchester United in 2014. During five seasons at Old Trafford, Herrera became a popular figure among supporters, making nearly 200 appearances in all competitions.
