England midfielder Jordan Henderson will miss the remainder of the 2026 World Cup after breaking his arm in a freak accident following England's victory over Mexico at the Azteca. Henderson, who did not play in the match, was injured while jumping over an advertisement board. Newcastle United defender Dan Burn, who was first on the scene, told TalkSPORT he feels partly responsible because he made the jump look easy, causing Henderson to attempt it. Henderson has since undergone surgery in Kansas City and plans to support his teammates from the sidelines during their match against Norway in Miami. The injury may mark the end of his international career.

England midfielder Jordan Henderson will play no further part in the World Cup after breaking his arm following the team's victory over Mexico.
The former Liverpool captain did not feature during the 90 minutes at the Azteca Stadium but was nonetheless yellow carded and injured in a bizarre off-field incident.
Henderson has since undergone surgery in Kansas City and, sporting a cast, will support his teammates from the sidelines when England face Norway in Miami on Saturday.
Burn: "I Think I Killed Him a Bit"
Newcastle United defender Dan Burn was the first to reach Henderson after the accident and has admitted he may have inadvertently played a role in the incident.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Burn explained that seconds before Henderson slipped, he had hopped over the same advertisement board without issue.
"I think I killed him a bit, because I made it look really easy when I jumped over," Burn said.

"I just heard the noise behind us straight away, and you know with Hendo, if he doesn't get up, there's something wrong.

"I am gutted for him. He wasn't on the pitch but he was still buzzing for everyone. He's had his op now. I'm happy he's back in Kansas now, because I think it's been a long few days."
A Costly Freak Accident
England head coach Thomas Tuchel reportedly knew immediately that Henderson had suffered a serious injury, with footage of the incident surfacing shortly after the match.
The 36-year-old midfielder has earned 90 caps for England over his international career. This injury could mark the end of his playing days for the national team.
Despite the setback, Henderson has vowed to continue supporting his teammates as they prepare for Saturday's match against Norway in Miami.
