Filippo Antonelli, sporting director of Venezia, arrived in Seville to personally negotiate the signing of Nigerian striker Akor Adams from Sevilla. Adams has already agreed to a four-year pre-contract with Venezia, who are backed by American investment and singer Drake. Sevilla is demanding at least 15 million euros, rejecting Venezia's initial 10 million offer. The sale is driven by Sevilla's need to reduce wage costs and comply with LaLiga financial restrictions. Venezia, recently promoted to Serie A, sees Adams as a reliable striker. The deal could close quickly if Venezia meets Sevilla's asking price.

Venezia's sporting director, last night at Seville airport — EL CHIRINGUITO By José Gordillo
Sevilla is preparing for its first major sale of the summer. With pre-season just underway, the club has activated an important potential revenue stream.
Filippo Antonelli, sporting director of Venezia, landed in the Andalusian capital last night to personally negotiate the signing of Akor Adams. On Thursday, the Italian side met early with Sevilla's directors to try to seal a definitive agreement.
Akor Adams, aware of Sevilla's financial urgency to free up wage bill space, has already given the green light to the operation. He has a pre-agreement with Venezia for the next four seasons, after being moved by his agents in Italian football, where he enjoys a strong reputation.
At Nervión, the club remains firm: they will not let the striker leave for less than €15 million, a figure higher than the initial proposal of €10 million. If Venezia approaches that amount, the transfer could be closed in a matter of hours.
The Italian 'New Rich'
A priori, economic power will not be an obstacle for Venezia in the negotiation for Akor Adams. Following the successful investment model of Como, the Veneto club has achieved a meteoric rise after restructuring with the entry of American capital and the support of singer Drake, injecting more than $100 million into its coffers.
With their return to Serie A confirmed, Venezia is now looking for a reliable striker and has opted for the Nigerian.
At Sevilla, the club knows that replacing Akor will be even more complex due to LaLiga's restrictions. However, the club needs to raise funds and free up salary margin to continue moving in the transfer market. For this reason, it is practically forced to greenlight one of the few sales that would leave an immediate surplus in the club's accounts.
