The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the custodial death of Gade Sai Krishna (25) in Vijayawada has uncovered a conspiracy by Krishnalanka police officers. Head constable P. Ashok allegedly sent a gym trainer named Sushanth to Goa with Sai Krishna's mobile phone to fabricate a story that the deceased had escaped custody and traveled there. The SIT, led by Inspector General M. Ravi Prakash, analyzed call data records of the accused Circle Inspector and four constables, identifying suspicious calls and social media activity. The gym trainer reportedly confessed to carrying the phone to Goa, where signals were traced. The accused had planned to mislead investigators by creating a false narrative of escape.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged custodial death of Gade Sai Krishna (25) has uncovered that head constable P. Ashok reportedly sent a gym trainer to Goa with the mobile phone of the deceased.
The SIT, led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) M. Ravi Prakash, verified call data recordings of the accused Circle Inspector (CI) S.S.V.V. Nagaraju and four constables currently in judicial custody.
Investigating officers compiled a list of individuals with whom the suspended CI and constables P. Ashok, K. Babu Rao, G. Sambaiah, and J. Nani communicated between May 5 and the end of the month.
Police examined the new phone numbers, repeated calls, call durations, and numbers contacted by the accused and suspects during nighttime hours. They also reviewed the social media groups used by the accused.
Gym Trainer Sent to Goa
During the investigation, it emerged that constable Ashok had reportedly instructed his gym trainer, Sushanth, to travel to Goa and carry Sai Krishna’s mobile phone.
According to investigating officers, the accused allegedly planned a conspiracy and attempted to fabricate a story that the deceased had escaped from police custody and travelled to Goa, where his mobile phone signals were traced.
SIT officials, who gathered details about Sushanth’s Goa trip — including the hotel where he checked in and other particulars — are also investigating whether the gym trainer made any calls from Sai Krishna’s phone while in Goa.
Police questioned the friends of the accused CI and constables, as well as the gym trainer, and recorded his statement. The gym trainer reportedly confessed that the police constable had given him a mobile phone, which he carried to Goa.
