68-Year-Old Bearer Killed During Robbery Attempt in Half-Way Tree, Jamaica
A 68-year-old cash bearer, Lawrence Kessna, was shot and killed during an attempted robbery on Half-Way Tree Road in St. Andrew, Jamaica. The incident occurred on a Friday afternoon after Kessna withdrew JMD $10 million from a bank on behalf of his company. As he left the financial institution, an assailant attempted to snatch the grey knapsack containing the funds. A struggle ensued, and when the attacker failed to secure the bag, he fired shots at Kessna, hitting him in the upper body. The perpetrator fled the scene on a waiting motorcycle.
