Wes Streeting led Labour ministers in broadcast rounds under Starmer
LabourList analysis reveals that former Health Secretary Wes Streeting performed the most broadcast rounds (30) among ministers in Keir Starmer's government since July 2024, followed closely by Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson (28) and Pat McFadden (26). Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper led the great offices of state with 24 appearances, while Chancellor Rachel Reeves did 15 and Prime Minister Starmer only 7. By department, the Home Office dominated with 65 ministerial broadcast appearances, followed by the Cabinet Office (63) and the Department for Education (59). LabourList editor Emma Burnell noted Streeting was heavily relied upon as one of Labour's best communicators, and that the issue agenda is unlikely to change dramatically under new Prime Minister Andy Burnham. The data was compiled from Politico's daily round-ups and BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg.
