Wanted Narcotics Fugitive Prabhdeep Singh Extradited from Azerbaijan to India
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Delhi Police, has successfully extradited wanted fugitive Prabhdeep Singh from Azerbaijan to India. Singh, who was subject to an INTERPOL Red Notice, is a key conspirator in a major narcotics trafficking racket investigated by Delhi's Special Cell under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Authorities recovered substantial quantities of drugs in the case, arresting several co-accused earlier while identifying Singh as the main organizer. Following international intelligence sharing, Azerbaijani authorities geo-located and apprehended Singh. After completing legal formalities, a three-member Delhi Police escort team traveled to Baku to take custody of the accused. They arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday morning. The CBI highlighted this success as part of broader efforts using INTERPOL channels and the BHARATPOL platform, noting that over 160 wanted criminals have been returned to India in recent years through coordinated diplomatic and law enforcement actions.
