Two from Kochi Arrested as CBN Seizes 30 Tonnes of Tramadol in Delhi
The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) arrested three men, including two from Kochi (Umesh Kumar of Thiruvananthapuram and Firdous of Malappuram), in connection with the seizure of 30 tonnes (30,000 kg) of suspected Tramadol Hydrochloride tablets from a warehouse in Delhi. The third accused, a director of a Bengaluru-based firm, was arrested in Bengaluru. All were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. The arrests were part of Operation Vajra, conducted between July 10 and 20, 2026. The CBN alleges the group was attempting to divert the consignment to Libya.
