Trump's 'Freedom Fuel' gas network tied to NFL coach, GOP fundraiser, and entrepreneur with fuel theft record
President Donald Trump and the White House have promoted the Freedom Fuel Network, a chain of gas stations in the Philadelphia area selling gas at $3.47 per gallon. The venture is backed by a disparate group including an NFL kicking coach, a GOP fundraiser, and New Jersey entrepreneur Shamikh Kazmi, who along with his brother Syed was ordered to pay over $600,000 for stealing more than 230,000 gallons of fuel. Blue Owl Capital, an investment firm in which Trump previously held up to $25 million in stock, owns about a third of the properties. The White House denied any personal connection or funding from Trump but acknowledged discussions with the network's organizers. The Kazmi brothers face multiple civil judgments and lawsuits from former suppliers and franchisors.
