Truck Full of Stones at Delhi Protest Site Was in Police Custody, Report Says
A truck loaded with stones found parked near Jantar Mantar ahead of a July 20 protest march to Parliament had been seized by Delhi Police four days earlier and was in police custody, according to a Newslaundry report. The truck was initially involved in a road accident on July 16 and was stored at the Sansad Marg police station. On July 20, Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke flagged the truck at the protest site, suggesting it could be used to frame protesters. The truck later appeared outside the Indian Youth Congress office. Delhi Police denied any conspiracy, stating the truck was moved for security reasons and never reached the protest site. However, conflicting accounts from police officers regarding the truck's location and timeline have raised questions. The police have urged the public not to circulate unverified information.
