Tottenham defender Alfie Dorrington's move to Pogon Szczecin collapses due to change of heart
Tottenham Hotspur academy defender Alfie Dorrington, 21, has pulled out of a permanent transfer to Polish club Pogon Szczecin. According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Dorrington had a change of heart and is now seeking a move to a club in England instead. The centre-back, who made his only first-team appearance for Spurs in December 2024 and spent last season on loan at Salford City, has a contract until 2029 but faces a crowded defensive lineup under manager Roberto De Zerbi. Tottenham have been selling several academy talents this summer, including Tynan Thompson, Alfie Devine, and Will Lankshear, while Ashley Phillips attracts interest from Middlesbrough. Dorrington hopes to find stability and regular senior football in the lower divisions of English football.
