Texas Mother Charged With Capital Murder After Two Children Found Dead in Burnt Car

Marlene Vidal, a 34-year-old mother from Edinburg, Texas, has been charged with capital murder after her two young children, aged 5 and 7, were discovered dead inside a burning vehicle in San Antonio. Authorities responded to a 911 call from a dog walker who spotted the white Hyundai engulfed in flames in a warehouse parking lot early Friday morning. Surveillance footage and scene evidence indicate Vidal was solely responsible for the deaths. A witness identified Vidal near the vehicle as it burned, and she later admitted to police that she was the mother and the suspect.
