Swedish EnergyTech Startup Elvy Closes €5.9 Million Funding Round
Stockholm-based EnergyTech company Elvy has successfully closed a €5.9 million ($7 million) funding round to accelerate its growth and establish its subscription-based energy model as the standard for European homeowners. The investment was led by Essential Capital and Daft Capital, with participation from angel investors including Mathias Kamprad. This equity raise follows a significant €500 million credit facility secured from Swedish debt-funding platform Scayl last December, which is designated for large-scale hardware deployment. Concurrently, Knut Frängsmyr, known for his roles at Klarna and Epidemic Sound, has joined Elvy as Chairman of the Board. Founded in 2023, Elvy offers integrated home energy solutions, such as solar panels and battery systems, under a fixed monthly subscription that includes maintenance and electricity. The company utilizes proprietary AI to optimize energy consumption. CEO Johan Outinen stated that the new capital supports plans to invest over €1 billion and secure 600 MW of capacity within three years, addressing Sweden's electricity crisis. Elvy reported a tenfold growth in its subscription model in 2025 and has already built 23 MW of distributed energy capacity.
