Sunil Koshy releases protest song 'Datey Raho' in support of student demonstrations
Techie-turned-musician Sunil Koshy released a high-energy motivational song titled 'Datey Raho' in response to student protests in New Delhi that led to the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The song, composed and released within 24 hours, was created in collaboration with lyricist Sahil Sultanpuri and guitarist Rijush Aluva. Koshy stated the song is not political but aims to support youth and society, encouraging students to think independently. The music video, released on July 25 across social media platforms, features visuals from the protests. Koshy, who usually sings in Malayalam and Kannada, chose Hindi for national reach. He has previously written songs on mental health and feminist causes, and expressed hope the song would inspire change, however small.
