Strasbourg Loses 0-2 to Blackburn in Pre-Season Friendly
Strasbourg suffered their second consecutive pre-season friendly defeat, losing 0-2 to Blackburn Rovers. The match, played under the watchful eye of holidaying Diego Moreira, saw an early own goal from Andrew Omobamidele in the 3rd minute following a misunderstanding with goalkeeper Milosz Piekutowski. Despite some promising moments, including a curling shot from Diogo Sousa and a penalty won by Samuel Amo-Ameyaw, Strasbourg failed to score. Amo-Ameyaw missed the penalty with a weak low shot in the 52nd minute. Blackburn extended their lead in the 84th minute through a long-range strike from Cantwell. Strasbourg's performance was hampered by numerous substitutions and an injury to Rayane Messi. The team will face Brighton in their next friendly as they prepare for the Ligue 1 opener against Marseille on August 21.
