Strasbourg Targets Ghanaian Defender Caleb Yirenkyi in Transfer Battle
French Ligue 1 club Strasbourg is actively pursuing Ghanaian international Caleb Yirenkyi, a 20-year-old versatile defender from Danish club Nordsjaelland. Yirenkyi, who played four matches for Ghana at the World Cup, is expected to leave this summer despite a contract running until June 2030. He can play as a right-back, an area Strasbourg seeks to strengthen. Last season, he started 34 times and helped his team finish 3rd in the Danish Championship. Nordsjaelland has already rejected significant offers from Porto and Coventry and is demanding at least €25 million excluding bonuses. Competition for the player is intense, and a favorable outcome for Strasbourg may involve Chelsea, as both clubs share the same owner, BlueCo.
