Richard Carapaz Voted Most Combative Rider of 113th Tour de France
Ecuadorian cyclist Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) was voted the most combative rider of the 113th Tour de France, the race organization announced Sunday. The 33-year-old 'king of the mountains' won the 'super combative' prize after combining fan and jury votes, defeating Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek), who was chosen by the public. This is Carapaz's second time receiving the award, repeating his 2024 feat when he also won the mountains classification. A central figure in the final week, Carapaz won two stages and finished eighth overall. The Olympic road race champion from Tokyo 2020 and 2019 Giro d'Italia winner succeeds his teammate Ben Healy, last year's most combative rider. The 113th Tour de France, which started July 4 in Barcelona, ends today with an 89-kilometer stage in Paris.
