AT&T quietly raises prices again as customer behavior shifts
AT&T is implementing another round of price increases, this time targeting internet customers. Starting August 16, 2026, monthly prices for fiber and copper internet plans established between June 2024 and July 2025 will rise by $5. Additionally, low-income households on the Access from AT&T program's retired Copper Plan will see a $5 increase. This follows earlier 2026 price hikes on retired unlimited wireless plans and administrative fees. The company cites the need to 'keep up with growing demands of the business' and continue delivering dependable service. AT&T is instructing employees to emphasize value and suggest autopay discounts to affected fiber customers, while encouraging Access program customers to switch to newer plans. The price increases come amid strong demand for AT&T's internet services, with the company adding 367,000 new fiber customers and 279,000 fixed wireless customers in Q2 2026, partly boosted by its acquisition of Lumen's fiber business.
