AT&T quietly raises prices again as customer behavior shifts
AT&T is implementing another round of price increases, this time targeting internet customers. Starting August 16, 2026, customers on fiber and copper internet plans established between June 2024 and July 2025 will see a $5 monthly increase. The company's low-income Access from AT&T program will also see a $5 hike for those on the retired Copper Plan. This follows earlier 2026 price increases on retired unlimited wireless plans and administrative fees. AT&T instructs employees to frame the increase as a 'small adjustment' to meet business demands. The price hikes come amid strong demand for AT&T's internet services, with the company adding 367,000 fiber customers in Q2 2026, boosted by its $5.75 billion acquisition of Lumen's fiber business. The global fixed wireless access market is projected to grow significantly through 2030.
