Purdue Basketball Adds Cal Baptist to Non-Conference Schedule

Purdue University's men's basketball team has added California Baptist University (Cal Baptist) to its non-conference schedule for the upcoming season. The game is scheduled to take place at Purdue on December 21, as reported by CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein. Cal Baptist, known as the Lancers, is coming off a successful 25-9 season that marked the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, where they were defeated by Kansas in the opening round. The Lancers transitioned from Division II to Division I in 2018. This addition complements Purdue's already challenging non-conference lineup, which features high-profile matchups against Gonzaga in Las Vegas on November 2 and a home game against Tennessee on December 12. The Boilermakers, who reached the Elite Eight in the previous season with a 30-9 record, will also face Iowa State on the road and host Valparaiso and Illinois State. Additionally, Purdue's Big Ten conference schedule has been finalized, including home-and-away series against key rivals like Indiana, Illinois, and Rutgers, alongside games against other conference members such as UCLA, USC, and Michigan State.
