Punjab Police Bring Back Fugitive Gangster from Indonesia After 6-Month Manhunt
Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force, in coordination with central agencies and the Overseas Fugitive Tracking & Extradition Cell, successfully deported fugitive gangster Jobanjit Singh (alias Joban Billa) from Jakarta, Indonesia, after a six-month international manhunt. The operation, named Operation Nomad Hunt, involved sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering across multiple countries. Singh is wanted in India for multiple heinous crimes including murder, attempted murder, and offenses under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Arms Act. Police DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that the deportation marks a major breakthrough against transnational organized crime and reaffirms the commitment to bringing fugitives to justice regardless of their location.
