Printed Solid Rebrands as Prusa USA, Strengthening US Operations
Printed Solid, the Delaware-based filament manufacturer acquired by Czech Prusa Research in 2022, has been rebranded as Prusa USA, Inc. The name change is largely cosmetic, with day-to-day operations unchanged. CEO Josef Prusa remains at the helm, while a new Marketing Officer has been promoted internally. The company's 100,000-square-foot Delaware factory houses a duplicate print farm for 3D printers and filament, though printers are not yet fully 'Made in the USA' due to some parts sourced from Prague. The rebranding comes amid anti-3D printing legislation in Delaware, including House Bill 399, which would mandate blocking technology on printers. Prusa Research emphasizes its commitment to open source and the right to repair. Former Printed Solid CEO David Randolph and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Chris Pelesky have stepped down but remain active in the 3D printing industry.
