Prime Video Original 'Phoolan' Selected for Toronto International Film Festival
Prime Video announced on July 21, 2026 that its original movie 'Phoolan' has been selected for a Special Presentation at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), running from September 10-20, 2026. The film will screen on September 16 at the Princess of Wales Theatre. Directed by Richie Mehta and inspired by Phoolan Devi's autobiography 'I, Phoolan - The Autobiography of India's Bandit Queen', the Hindi action drama depicts a defining chapter where thousands of men trap a 17-year-old girl in a village to kill her. The film stars Sneha Kumari in the titular role, supported by Anurag Thakur, Vikram Pratap Singh, and others. The logline describes a brutal 48-hour siege that defies action cinema conventions, telling the story of an impoverished girl who became one of India's most famous outlaws.
