Peru Conducts Over 2,700 Immigration Verification Operations to Enhance Security

The National Superintendency of Migrations of Peru, in coordination with the National Police of Peru, has executed more than 2,700 immigration verification and inspection operations so far in 2026. These initiatives aim to strengthen immigration control, ensure compliance with national regulations, and guarantee internal security under the National Citizen Security Plan 2026. The operations are conducted across all regions where Migrations has a presence, involving collaboration with various authorities including Customs, Sutran, and local governments. A recent significant intervention occurred in the Tumbes region, bordering Ecuador, where officials supervised by National Superintendent Juan Ramiro Alvarado Gómez inspected dozens of foreign citizens. As a result, individuals with irregular entry status were identified and handed over to police authorities to initiate the Exceptional Special Administrative Sanctioning Procedure (PASEE). Superintendent Alvarado emphasized that these actions are part of permanent efforts to promote orderly, safe, and regular migration. Future operations will continue to focus on strategic control points, border areas, and international transit hubs to maintain citizen security and regulatory compliance throughout the country.
