Perenti's AMS to sell mining fleet to AngloGold Ashanti at Iduapriem mine
Perenti subsidiary African Mining Services (AMS), operating through the AMAX joint venture with local partner MaxMass, has agreed to sell its mining fleet to AngloGold Ashanti as part of a transition plan at the Iduapriem Gold Mine in Ghana. AMS has provided surface mining services at the open-pit mine since 2018. Under the new agreement, AMAX will continue operations for approximately six months from July 17, 2026, until the contract concludes. Upon handover, a significant portion of AMS-owned equipment will be transferred to AngloGold Ashanti. The fleet sale is expected to generate proceeds between A$30 million and A$40 million, based on an agreed valuation method. The overall contract is valued at around A$95 million. Perenti executives highlighted the deal as a strategic step in portfolio evolution and capital recycling.
