Palmeiras Signs Cameroonian Prospect Miguel Bilong with €100 Million Release Clause
Brazilian club Palmeiras has signed 18-year-old Cameroonian forward Miguel Bilong, placing a €100 million release clause in his three-season contract through 2029. Bilong, who impressed during a trial period with the U-20 team, has been compared to Samuel Eto'o. He trained with the senior squad under coach Abel Ferreira and could become the first African player to feature professionally for Palmeiras. The club's scouting project in Africa has also yielded Ivorian defender Koné Zie and Malian center-back Tiecoura Konaté. Bilong is described as a powerful, 1.78m tall forward with strong finishing ability, capable of playing as a midfielder or forward.
