Padraig Harrington named third vice-captain for Europe's 2027 Ryder Cup team
Luke Donald, captain of Team Europe for the 2027 Ryder Cup, has appointed Irishman Padraig Harrington as his third vice-captain. The tournament will be held at Adare Manor in Ireland in September 2027. Harrington, a three-time major champion and six-time Ryder Cup player, joins the Molinari brothers (Edoardo and Francesco) in Donald's backroom team. Europe seeks a third consecutive victory after wins in 2023 and 2025. Harrington previously served as captain in 2021 and as vice-captain on three occasions. Both Donald and Harrington expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, highlighting Harrington's experience and his connection to the Irish crowds. Harrington made his Ryder Cup debut in 1999 and was part of four winning European teams.
