Nuno Borges Re-enters ATP Top 50; Sinner Remains World No. 1
Portuguese tennis player Nuno Borges re-entered the ATP rankings top 50, rising four places to 48th in the rankings released Monday, led by Italian Jannik Sinner with no changes among the top 13. Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas recorded a significant rise of 34 places to 51st after winning his first title in over 16 months at the Gstaad tournament, defeating Belgian Raphaël Collignon in the final. Tsitsipas, a former world number three and two-time Grand Slam finalist, had left the top 10 in April 2025. Monégasque Valentin Vacherot returned to the top 20, rising to 19th. Portugal now has two players in the world top 100: Borges at 48th and Jaime Faria at 88th. In doubles, Francisco Cabral fell to 27th after losing the Bastad doubles final. In women's tennis, Aryna Sabalenka leads with no changes in the top 25, and Francisca Jorge remains the top Portuguese player at 222nd.
