Northrop Grumman Breaks Ground on New Utah Facility for Sentinel ICBM Program
Northrop Grumman has broken ground on a new 'Legacy Building' at its Roy Innovation Center in Utah to accelerate the US Air Force's next-generation Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) strategic deterrent program. Construction will begin this summer and is scheduled for completion in 2028. The expansion will bring the campus to six buildings with over 1.1 million square feet of office space and create several hundred new jobs. Nearly 5,000 Northrop Grumman employees across the US are currently working on the Sentinel program, which aims for initial capability in the early 2030s. The company has invested $13.5bn in infrastructure and R&D over the past five years, including $2bn specifically for solid rocket motor capacity. Northrop Grumman employs over 11,000 people in Utah, making it the state's largest defense contractor.
