Manchester City confirmed no contact has occurred since the England team returned from the US World Cup. The £50 million asking price is seen as a potential obstacle. Newcastle are preparing for the new season with Nick Pope as starting goalkeeper, who has been given the number 1 shirt. Pope regained his starting spot after being dropped following a mistake last season. Newcastle also decided not to permanently sign Ramsdale, indicating confidence in Pope.
