New Details on Laura Dahlmeier's Death: Witness Warned of Danger Before Fatal Expedition
One year after the death of German mountaineer Laura Dahlmeier (31) in Pakistan, new details have emerged in a ServusTV documentary. Spanish mountaineer María Martín, who met Dahlmeier at base camp days before the accident, says she urgently warned her about the extreme danger. Martín described constant avalanches, falling rocks, and ice, and showed Dahlmeier photos of the avalanches. The worst avalanches occurred after Dahlmeier had already left base camp. Alan Rousseau, involved in the rescue mission, described finding Dahlmeier's lifeless body still hanging in the rope, with the snow around her blackened by rock and debris. Rescuers ultimately decided against attempting a recovery, concluding it was too risky for anyone to approach the site.
