NCB dismantles transnational drug syndicate, arrests Myanmar-based kingpin
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has dismantled a transnational drug trafficking syndicate with the arrest of its alleged kingpin, Nengzatuan alias Tuanpi, in Churachandpur, Manipur. The accused operated from Haichin in Myanmar's Chin State and controlled a trafficking network routing methamphetamine and heroin through Manipur, Mizoram, Assam, and Tripura for distribution across India and Bangladesh. Nengzatuan is wanted in three NCB cases and connected to seven other cases by police and the DRI. The NCB cases involve seizures of about 28.22 kg of methamphetamine tablets and close to 1.28 kg of heroin, valued at over ₹25 crore. The syndicate has been linked to seizures worth over ₹53 crore. Previous arrests include Abdullah Ahmed, Lalthlamuong Pulamte, Nengultinkhum Hrangngul, Paominlen Munlo, Lalhmingsanga, and Thancintuang. The investigation used technical surveillance, digital evidence, and financial analysis.
