Mumbai-to-Hyderabad mephedrone trail ends at Paradise Circle with two arrests
The Telangana EAGLE Force and Ramgopalpet police arrested two individuals near Paradise Circle in Hyderabad on July 25, 2026, intercepting a mephedrone consignment transported from Mumbai by bus. The accused, Riya Khatoon (32) from Malad West, Mumbai, and Ajith Sankhla (43), a freelance video editor from Hyderabad, were found with four grams of mephedrone valued at ₹12,000. Police received a tip about a drug delivery near a private hospital and set up surveillance. Riya had traveled from Mumbai carrying the contraband, and Ajith was waiting to receive it. Investigations revealed that Riya and Ajith met through mutual friends at parties where drugs were consumed and established links with a Mumbai-based supplier named Sameer. Ajith, who moved to Hyderabad six months ago for work, noticed local demand for mephedrone and arranged procurement. Police seized the drugs and two mobile phones, and are now searching for the absconding supplier Sameer.
