Montreal Alouettes Sign New French Radio Deal with 99.5 FM

The Montreal Alouettes have announced a new partnership with 99.5 FM, owned by Leclerc Communication, for French-language radio broadcast rights. This agreement, effective immediately for the upcoming season including preseason games, terminates a long-standing relationship with Cogeco’s 98.5 FM, which had aired team games since 2011. While English-language rights remain with TSN 690, the shift to 99.5 FM is notable because the station typically simulcasts Qub Radio content and plays music rather than broadcasting live sports. The move aligns with the ownership of Quebecor, led by Pierre Karl Péladeau, who also owns the Alouettes. Specific on-air talent for the new broadcasts has not yet been named, replacing former announcers Jean St-Onge and Jean-Philippe Bolduc. Station management described the deal as a step toward offering passionate, unified sports coverage rooted in Montreal. Team executives expressed confidence that the partnership would enhance the team's visibility across Quebec. Listeners outside Montreal can access the games via the station's mobile application, as Leclerc Communication does not currently have other broadcast towers for this purpose.
