Ex-Minister Slams Burnham's Decision To 'Unceremoniously Sack Competent People' From Government
Former Labour anti-corruption minister Tulip Siddiq has publicly criticized Prime Minister Andy Burnham's major government reshuffle, which saw the removal of most of Keir Starmer's allies from positions of power. Siddiq, who resigned from Starmer's government in January 2025 amid scrutiny over her ties to her aunt, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, and was later convicted in absentia in Bangladesh on corruption charges, rejected the allegations as malicious. The government has been approached for comment.
